Let coaches coach

Let Compass take care of the rest

I built Compass as a coach, parent, and board member because week-to-week communication issues kept getting in the way of good coaching. I am based in Portland, Oregon, USA, affiliated with Southeast Soccer Club (SESC), and currently focused on early pilot work with clubs in and around Southeast Portland.

The Problem

Registration systems handle registration and compliance, but they rarely give coaches much visibility into the rest of the club or any simple way to coordinate shared resources week to week.

The Wrong Fix

Replacing mandated infrastructure creates political friction, long timelines, and more disruption for coaches.

The Compass Solution

Work alongside existing systems and help coaches communicate clearly, understand how teams and staff fit together across the club, and coordinate shared resources like game cameras without extra confusion.

What we focus on in pilot mode

Club-Wide Coach Visibility

Give coaches and directors a clearer view of the teams, age groups, and staff that make up the club.

Coach-to-Team Communication

Make expectations and updates clearer for players and families without adding more communication clutter.

Shared Resource Coordination

Make it easier for teams to share club resources like game cameras without confusion, overlap, or constant back-and-forth.

Founder-Led Working Sessions

Every club starts with a direct pilot conversation to understand where communication, visibility, or resource coordination is breaking down and whether a low-pressure pilot makes sense.

“Compass started from lived experience as a coach, board member, and parent not from a generic startup playbook. We are building with clubs, not selling at clubs. We are ready to share this tool with our local clubs so that kid's receive the best youth sports experience they can get.”

— James Krill, Compass Founder

Request a pilot conversation

If Compass feels relevant to your club, the first step is a direct conversation with me. Tell me how your coaches and club leaders are communicating today, and we'll decide together whether a pilot makes sense and what the practical pilot costs would be.
